LASH, BROW, & PERMANENT MAKE-UP

Brow Lamination is a new, innovative beauty treatment that has continued to grow in popularity, recreating the trending look of thick, bushy brows. Brow lamination is great for those who love a ‘brushed-up' look but can’t seem to tame their brow hair due to it being too straight or fine.

IS BROW LAMINATION PERMANENT?
Generally, brow lamination lasts from four to six weeks. Depending on how well you look after your brows, it can last up to eight weeks. After the four to six-week period, it’s recommended that you get your brows re-laminated in order to maintain the look over a longer period of time.

HOW LONG DOES A BROW LAMINATION TREATMENT TAKE?
The brow lamination process itself doesn’t take very long; only around 15-20 minutes. It takes another 20 minutes for it to set. Some brow lamination treatments also include the tinting and/or waxing of brows before or after, which altogether can take around 30-40 minutes in a salon without the set time.

HOW MUCH IS BROW LAMINATION?
Depending on location, brow lamination is typically $60-$70.

WHAT DOES THE BROW LAMINATION PROCESS INVOLVE?
Consultation: Your brow expert will perform a full consultation with you, with brow mapping to discover your perfect brow style.

Step one: After cleansing the brows, your tech will place brows in an upward position using Brow Fix to ensure all Brow Lamination solutions target the brow from the root to the tip. This solution holds the brows in place throughout the treatment.

Step two: Brow Style is applied to the brows. This cream creates a chemical process that breaks down the bonds in each hair, allowing them to be manipulated into a new shape. Solution is left on the brows for a predetermined time depending on the condition of the hair.

Step three: Brow Set is applied the brows. This solution sets the hair in its new position. Solution is left on the brows for a predetermined time depending on the condition of the hair.

Step four: Optional Tinting. Brows can be tinted to add colour to the brows and to enhance the results of the treatment.

Step five: All traces of the products above are removed from the brows, then Brow Nourish (a specially developed brow serum with keratin) is applied to the brows to hydrate and condition the hair.

Step six: The brows are brushed into their desired position - this position is adjustable depending on the look you would like to achieve. Brows can be brushed up or brushed into a more natural shape.

Permanent make-up or PMU is when micro-pigmentation is implanted into the skin, either by a hand tool (Microblading) or a machine (Ombre / Powder Brows). Essentially, permanent makeup is a tattoo that resembles makeup to enhance a certain feature of your face, such as beautiful brows or a defined lash line.

The Benefits:
 Long-lasting, beautiful results
 Fill-in gaps, thicken and enhance your brows
 Creates a natural, effortless look
 Forget about meticulously filling-in your brows
 Have stunning brows at all times
 Increase your confidence

What to Consider:
 If you are unsure which PMU brow technique is right for you, set-up a permanent makeup consultation to go over all of your options and assess your brow and skin needs.
 If you have sensitive skin or are allergic to anything, be sure to ask your
aesthetician about the products being used and possibly to spot test beforehand.
 If you use retinol, chemical peels, Botox, or take Accutane, please consult with us and do your research beforehand because these products may make your skin more sensitive and disrupt the results.
 If you are pregnant or breast feeding, you cannot have these treatments done.

Pre-Appointment:
 Bring in photos to show us your brow inspiration so we can have an idea of what you want.
 Do not wear any makeup the day of appointment.
 Do not take aspirin or any blood-thinning medicine the day of your appointment to avoid complications.
 Do not drink any alcohol or caffeine 24 hours prior to your appointment.

Will my Eyebrows look fake?
NO! Microblading and Ombré techniques are done using a cosmetic tattooing process and our pigmentation is unique in its artistry resulting in soft, natural looking eyebrows.

When we implant pigment in the skin, it appears more natural looking than even topically applied cosmetics.

How do you choose which brow technique is best?
We will evaluate your skin type, your brows and what look you want to determine if Microblading, Ombré brows, or a combo brow is best for you!

How do you choose the shape?
We choose a shape and style together. At the beginning of the procedure, we will draw in a suggested shape for your new brows then you and your artist will work together to perfect it according to your preference. Measurements are taken to check symmetry and position before the actual tattooing begins.

How do you choose a color?
We choose a color together by applying small amounts of different colored pigments to the skin near to your brows and selecting the best match for your skin tone, features and personal preference.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING PROCEDURE

The Process:
1. First, we will assess your skin type, decide on what service suits you best, and what your ideal outcome is.
2. We then map your brows to create your ideal shape/look.
3. We will apply a numbing cream and an anesthetic to the area to lessen or even eliminate pain.
4. Now we begin the permanent makeup process.
5. Lastly, we apply soothing cream to the area to help with any discomfort and begin to alleviate any redness.
6. Say hello to your stunning new look!

Will it hurt?
We take every precaution necessary to ensure the micro-pigmentation application is as pain free as possible. Some clients find the procedure a little uncomfortable, whereas other clients report no discomfort at all. A combination of 2 anesthetics are used, first a topical numbing cream and then a local anesthetic is introduced once the tattooing procedure has started. This is topped up regularly during the treatment to keep you comfortable. Similar to our other PMU services.

How long does it take to do?
Investing an hour or two of your time can make you beautiful for years to come. The procedure is split into 2 appointments, which are 4-6 weeks apart to allow for the healing process to complete. The initial procedure will take from 120-150 minutes, and your second appointment takes from 60-90 minutes.

AFTER-CARE & WHAT TO EXPECT

How long is the recovery or healing time?
Many clients can walk right out the door, ready to show off their new brows. Initially stronger in color, your new brows will soften to a natural looking and beautiful color in two to three weeks. Working out or sweating shouldn't be done for about 10-14 day because it affects the healing process.

What will they look like immediately after the procedure?
Your brows may be a little swollen, red and sometimes a bit white. This is all very normal. They will be considerably darker for the first week, before they begin to fade out to a softer color.

Does it hurt afterwards?
The area can be a little sore for the first few hours and then tender to the touch for a couple of days.

Will I Need a Follow-Up Appointment?
Yes! All permanent cosmetic procedures need a follow-up appointment to address and issues you may be having or if you may need a touch-up.

Will they fade?
Your body’s skin changes over time and so will any permanent makeup coloration implanted in to the skins layers. However, this natural fading process takes years and touch ups are easily done as your color fades over time.

How long does the Microblading procedure last?
This varies from person to person and that you get your second session within 4-6 weeks. You should see lasting results for 12-18 months. We recommend an annual touch-up for the first 3 years.

What if I don’t like it?
Although the procedure is considered semi-permanent, these procedures do have flexibility in changing color and shape to some extent. Colors will appear much darker immediately following the procedure but will often soften and lighten during the healing process. The healing time is different for each individual and remember it takes time to adjust to a new look!

Are there any side effects during or after the procedure?
During the procedure there may be some minor bleeding. This will depend on the client. If a person is taking blood thinners on a daily basis, then some slight bleeding may occur. Bruising is rare but if a person is on blood thinners, then bruising can occur. There is usually some tenderness for a few days.  The color appears much darker than you may expect for the first six to ten days.

More questions? No Worries!
At the end of your cosmetic tattooing session, your artist will go over any concerns and you will be sent home with aftercare products and detailed and printed aftercare instructions.
